While Facebook might be super happy with its acquisition of Instagram, many Instagram users themselves are not too thrilled by the news about their favourite app having been taken over by the networking giant Facebook. Though Zuckerburg has announced that the App will be left largely independent many are not convinced. There might be even those who are planning to close their Instagram account all together. If you are one of them then this is how you can do it without losing your artistically edited photos.
Instaport is a free web service which will help you download your Instagram photos.
Login to Instaport with your Instagram account and password. Once in, you’ll be given the option to either download your photos to your hard disk or transfer them to your Flickr account.
Now that all your photos are safe you can go ahead and delete your Instagram account from Instagram’s account removal request page.
Other services which serve the same purpose: Copygr.am and InstaBackup
Facebook is one of the top sites to which users upload ‘Instagramed’ images from the app. Now, after Instagram’s buyout by Facebook some of us want to opt out. Indeed an irony it is!
